Junk Journaling

One hobby that I have gotten myself totally lost in recently is junk journaling. I can't remember where exactly I stumbled on the concept, but before I knew it I had joined several Facebook groups and I was HOOKED!

I want to be able to share the fun I've been having with others so I started making my own junk journal kits that I've been selling at local market events (and soon I will hopefully have them listed online too)!

What is Junk journaling?

There's no one-size-fits-all definition of what a junk journal is but the way I have come to define it is that Junk journaling is a creative form of journaling that takes repurposed and upcycled materials to make a unique, personal work of art. Junk journals bring together a mix of found objects, vintage ephemera,
scrapbook paper, fabric scraps, old book pages... basically anything you can think of to create a work of art. As a bonus, junk journaling can also be a sustainable artform, as it encourages you to use materials that you might otherwise throw out. It’s a great way to breathe new life into old items and give them a fresh purpose.

The absolute best part of junk journaling (in my opinion) is its freedom and versatility, there aren’t any strict rules or guidelines to follow, so you can really play around with things and express yourself through a collage of textures, colors and memories. Whether you use your journal to document your daily life, preserve mementos or simply unleash your creativity, junk journaling is a fun and therapeutic outlet for self expression
