Many thanks once again to everyone who turned out to the Geek Trader Market and stopped by our booth to say hello! The heat was a lot for us to manage and the wind meant we had to pivot our display ideas as our stickers were threatening to make a break for it but overall we got to meet and interact with a lot of folks many left with treasures!
In preparation for our next event at Alden Days, I'm cooking up some new ideas to make my displays more stable in varying weather conditions and if fortune and the printer are on our side I should also be able to show off some of the newest Flaptor Design Original stickers that I've been drawing up!
On a much goofier note, I am going to start something with my next event that I am hoping to carry along to all of my events and that is *drumroll*
The Flaptor Trinket Exchange (name subject to change)
Have you ever seen those little take-a-penny leave-a-penny trays at gas stations and checkout counters? I want to do something similar to that but just as a goofy little trinket exchange. I plan to stock the trinket tray before each event with a combination of little fun shiny things from my personal collection as well as little things I have made but can't justify putting a price tag on in my own mind for one reason or another.
I have in my house a huge jar of just random little trinkets that make me happy. These things have no practical purpose other than at some point my silly little raven brain saw a fun little thing and had to add it to The Collection and I want to share the little pieces of joy with other people, because if social media has taught me anything, it's that there are so so many other people like me who just like fun little trinkets.
All I ask is that if you take a trinket, please leave something in return. This can be anything from an interesting bottlecap, a cool sparkly rock you found, a little acorn cap, the limitations are up to you... I mean as long as it fits in the tray I suppose.
I am also planning to make my way back over to Art and Connection in Elk Rapids to check on and update my little stock of original works sometime in the next few weeks once I am fully recovered from the Geek Trader Market.
Thanks for sticking with me!
